Raspberry Pi Model B *Now with 512mb Ram*
Perhaps the most important statement that the release of Raspberry Pi has made since its release is that credit card sized micro computing at incredibly affordable prices is not only feasible (at 25 dollars for the model a and 35 dollars for the model b) but, with enough popularity and public interest it can be brought even further along. As of today the model B versions of Raspberry Pi will be shipped with 512 mb of ram without any increase in price, due in small part to the gradual drop in cost of RAM every year but more so do the overwhelming success of these mini power houses. From sheer number of purchases its now financially sound on both sides of their suppliers and their own to tag on the extra RAM.
For the end user this means three primary changes.
- The ability to run additional programs and processes simultaneously without bogging down the chip.
- The ability to run heavier end processes that require more than the 256 mb to be worth the time to run anyway
- Overall improved performance from standard running operation.
An immediate application that might gain more popularity with the boost to the RAM might be using a small cluster of Raspberry pi modules as a simple server system or as acluster, both are nifty applications for an environment you might not want to stick a large server system into or want to have a very basic networking set up such as a shared HDD.
X-Box 360 Bundle price drop
Coming up this holiday season the kind folks over at Microsoft have dropped the prices on their kinect 4GB bundles and their 250gb Xbox bundles. With rumors that the newest incarnation of the Xbox is set to be released sometime next year this can be a vie to push out the bulk of their remaining systems in order to get some of the capital up to get a head start against Sony, once again and standardize game cross platform production, once again.
One of the advantages that Microsoft took advantage of by getting out there first was giving video game production companies more in house experience producing for the xbox platform, which is perhaps why very few games made use of the multi-core ps3 and the latent power waiting inside of it.
Elvis Presley 35th Death Anniversary
Who doesn’t know Elvis Presley?
He was the “KING OF ROCK AND ROLL” in the early 50′s. Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. During his early teens, Elvis moved to Memphis, Tennessee where his career began with Sun records, with owner Sam Phillips.
Elvis attracted a lot of fans during his fame and was an impressive role model among others. When he passed, a lot of fans were devastated. Fans cried like he was a close family member, they flew to his hometown to give support and still till this day Presley is still remembered as the “THE KING“.
Elvis passed away in August 16, 1977. It’s been 35 years since he left us and we still cherish him and keep him close to our hearts.
We have fans flocking to his Graceland home to mark the 35th death anniversary. During the remaining of “his” week they will host a candlelight vigil at Graceland’s gates. It is also followed by a special concert with surviving members of his band including Booby Wood in a 1,200-seat air conditioned tent. There will also be a video footage of him singing and his widowed wife Priscilla and daughter Lisa Marie will also be taking part in the event.
Apple calls “Copy cat” on Samsung
“As much as Apple would love for Kwon Oh-hyun to turn up at court and tearfully confess to being a copycat, that’s probably not going to happen. Instead, Cupertino’s lawyers are burrowing through Samsung’s history in search of a legal smoking gun, and one of their latest submissions has been presented as just that.”
By the picture shown above, its obvious Samsung has taken the same icon concept as apple. Will Apple take any action against Samsung. Who will win the battle?
It seems as though there will be a heated battle between these two companies.

Leaked iPhone 5 Images and Video!
Techcrunch recently posted an article on about the newly ancitipated iPhone 5. Courtesy of Macotakara, we have iPhone 5 images and video leaked for all of us to enjoy. The video seems to confirm all our speculations we have of the highly anticipated product. The taller screen, speakers on the bottom, and front centered Facetime camera. (Techcrunch.com)
The new images and video seem to confirm all the rumors we’ve had this past year. Because of Apple’s secrecy and mystery behind everything, we usually always find out what it looks like at the big unveil at Apple Inc in California.
We are never really sure if this is exactly what the iPhone 5 will look like, but this is a big lead on our suspicions. What we do know is that the iPhone 5 will have a higher resolution screen provided that this is the biggest rumor out there.
It seems as though the iPhone lost its glorified glossiness. Do you agree? Will you be picking up the iPhone 5 this Fall?
